Financial Aid

The Office of Financial Aid and Veterans' Affairs is responsible for administering traditional federal and state financial aid programs including grants, loans, and work-study.

We can help you navigate the financial aid process. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can be completed online at www.fafsa.gov beginning October 1. Richland's federal code is 010879.

Financial Aid Mission

The mission of the Office of Financial Aid and Veterans' Affairs is to provide clear and appropriate information and counseling to educate current students, prospective students and parents about financial aid. We award grants, loans, federal work study, and veterans' benefits to eligible students in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies that govern federal, state, institutional and privately funded programs. Our team provides premium service in a timely manner to stakeholders so that students have the opportunity to further their educational goals.

The vision of the Office of Financial Aid and Veterans' Affairs is to promote awareness of Financial Aid opportunities and provide quality customer service while utilizing new and expanding technologies for the purpose of exceeding the expectations of our students, staff and community.

    The National Student Loan Data System website https://www.nslds.ed.gov/nslds_SA/ is the U.S. Department of Education's (ED's) central database for student aid.  Students can look up their lender contact information, loan balance, and other information about loans and grants on this website.

    You’re not alone when it comes to student loans. Richland Community College has partnered with Inceptia, a division of National Student Loan Program (NSLP), to provide you with FREE assistance on your Federal student loan obligations to ensure successful, and comfortable, loan repayment. Inceptia’s friendly customer representatives may reach out to you during your grace period to answer questions you have about your loan obligation and/or repayment options. Inceptia is not a collection agency. We’ve partnered with them to inform you of a wide variety of possibilities such as alternative repayment plans, deferment, consolidation, discharge, forgiveness, and forbearance options.
