Academic Success Center

We realize that each of our students is different and that sometimes people learn in different ways. Many students may require academic support in order to accomplish their educational goals. With this in mind, we provide a host of services including accommodations for people with disabilities, free tutoring (in-person and virtual), access to computers and laptops, and help with testing skills. We look forward to providing you with the services you need to make your college career a successful one!

Our mission is to promote student academic success by connecting them to our key services of accommodations and free walk-in or individual tutoring in the areas of:

Virtual Tutoring (Upswing)

The Academic Success Center at Richland also offers virtual tutoring to students.

Upswing Virtual Tutoring Offers:

Options to meet with a Richland or an Upswing tutor online
Tutoring available after hours or on the weekends (Upswing tutors only)
Over 100 subjects offered
Paper review (any subject/any assignment)
Upswing is completely free for students

Accessing Upswing

Open any course in Canvas.
Click Upswing on the left-hand side of the toolbar
Search for the course you would like tutoring in
Complete the requested information
Select and meet with a tutor
TO DROP OFF A PAPER:
1. At the top of the page, click “Upload an assignment for review”
2. Complete the instructions at the top of the page
3. Once your paper is completed, you can find it under “Current Submissions”
