Student Ambassador Program

The Richland Student Ambassador Program is a leadership opportunity for students interested in representing Richland Community College while building professional skills and connections. Selected students will serve as Student Ambassadors, representing the College at events, supporting recruitment and community outreach efforts, and sharing the Richland experience with donors, prospective students, and community partners.

Ambassadors will enroll in a 1-credit Student Development course each semester, focused on learning about leadership, networking, career readiness, and communication skills. Each student will also be paired with a Richland alumni or community mentor for guidance and career exploration.

To be qualified, students must: 

  • 18 Years+
  • Plan to enroll at Richland for Fall and Spring with a minimum of 6 Credit Hours each semester
  • Have earned and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Enroll in the Student Development Courses for Ambassadors each semester
  • Be in good standing with the College
  • Be comfortable representing Richland
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for Richland and willingness to share their story
  • Agree to attend the Power of Giving Scholarship Reception and Bright Futures Gala

Application Requirements:

  • Complete general scholarship application and the Student Ambassador Scholarship funded by the Walter and Alice Scherer Scholarship Endowment additional application by June 1, 2026
  • Reference and essay completion
  • New students: Submit high school transcript with GPA (7th semester transcripts accepted)
  • Monitor Richland Outlook email
