Richland Community College, funded through the Grow Your Own Teachers Illinois initiative, is hosting a free two-day workshop designed to support individuals interested in becoming paraprofessionals or substitute teachers.
Participants will receive training, resources, and the opportunity to connect directly with hiring partners.

- Q & A Panel with Decatur School Leaders
What Participants Can Expect
- Training and guidance for individuals interested in becoming substitute teachers or paraprofessionals
- A completion stipend for participants who attend both days
- Light breakfast, snacks, and lunch provided each day
- Opportunities to schedule individual appointments with representatives from:
- Decatur Public Schools
- Regional Office of Education #39
- Richland Community College
- Local education partners will be on-site to discuss employment opportunities, answer questions about substitute and paraprofessional positions, and explain job pathways
- Representatives from four-year transfer institutions and Richland Community College will also be available to provide information about admissions, registration, financial aid, and scholarships
- Information about financial assistance for certification fees
