Saturday: 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

Circuit Training with a Personal Trainer

The Richland Community College Fitness Center provides a free orientation for full-body exercise training, conditioning, and motivation from professionally-trained trainers to enhance participants' lifestyles through effective strength and cardiovascular programs. Training summaries are utilized in conjuntion with our unique interactive fitness network system. The program helps guide you through your own personalized exercise routine and track your performance. The trainers will assist you in updating your workout to ensure your continued success.

Exercise Equipment

The Fitness Center is well-equipped with user-friendly cardio machines, exercise machines with selectable weight and range-of-motion settings/adjustments, free weights, cross cable machine exercises and attachments.

Individualized Progressive Personal Fitness Training

Join the growing number of people who are incorporating the services of a trainer to keep them on the road to fitness. This is a 6-week course designed for one-on-one training. A personal workout will be designed for you based on your goals.

  • Individualized Progressive Personal Fitness I - WKS 8214-01 - 6 weeks (30 minute sessions 3 times per week) Cost $120
  • Individualized Progressive Personal Fitness II - WKS 8215-01 - 6 weeks (60 minute sessions 3 times per week) Cost $250

With staff assistance, each person develops a personalized fitness program, based on individual goals and abilities. The health-related fitness class uses stationary bikes, treadmills, stairclimbers, free weights, and universal weight machines to provide a combined aerobic/ muscle-toning workout. Cross training ensures more effective results in improving and maintaining personal fitness.

Individual fitness workouts to meet class requirements may be completed anytime during Fitness Center hours. We encourage students to use the Center on a daily basis. The Fitness Center is available on a first- come, first-served basis; usually there is no waiting for use of the equipment. Locker room and shower facilities are available.

Fitness Testing

The Fitness Center is equipped with fitness assessment tools used to perform fitness tests. The assessment tests are designed to monitor progress and to assist in the development of your fitness program. Regular fitness testing can objectively measure the effectiveness of your program and can possibly save you months or even years of hard work. If progress is not significant, immediate changes can be made to your program. The P.E. instructor & Fitness Center assistants can help you decide the tests most compatible with your fitness goals and how often you should test.

Tanita Ironman Inner Scan Scale

Calculates: Weight, Body Fat%, Total Body Water %, Muscle Mass, Physique Rating, Basal Metabolic Rate (daily caloric intake), Metabolic Age, Bone Mass, Visceral Fat.

Omron Body Logic Body Fat Analyzer

The Omron Body Fat Analyzer was designed with accuracy and efficiency in mind. Simple in form and reliable in function, this lightweight fat monitor uses a low bio-impedance current to determine your body mass index, body fat weight, and body fat percentage.

Omron Arm Cuff & Hyundai Wrist Cuff Blood Pressure Monitors

Taking your blood pressure is easy with this fully automatic monitor. In seconds, your blood pressure and pulse readings are shown on the digital display. Clinically proven accuracy in a compact fully automatic unit.

Lumi Scope Blood Pressure Monitor

Similar to the blood pressure gauge used by professional health practitioners. Blood pressure can be manually assessed using the Lumi Scope kit that includes an adjustable arm cuff, Aneroid Gauge, and stethoscope.
