Online Tutoring Service

NetTutor Logo TM

NetTutor is an online tutoring service integrated into Canvas that provides students the support they need, whenever they need it, for lots of different subjects, and on any type of device. The Academic Success Center  (ASC) purchased this platform for Richland students so they can access this service wherever they have a computer and internet connection. The ASC hopes this will fill in the gaps of face-to-face tutoring by offering tutoring for a wider variety of subjects as well as evening and weekend tutoring.

General NetTutor FAQ


Students are allowed 8 hours of tutoring per summer semester and 16 hours of tutoring per fall and spring semester. These hours can be used at the discretion of the student. NetTutor rounds to the nearest minute. Students can use as much or little time as needed per session.

Schedule a Tutoring Appointment

No-Show and Cancellation Policies

  • Appointments may be cancelled/rescheduled by notifying the Academic Success Center at least 24 hours prior (not including weekends or times the College is closed) to your appointment time.
  • If the notification is received in less than 24 hours (or not at all), this will be considered a no show. After two no shows, you may lose your privilege to make appointments for the remainder of the semester.
  • In the event you are unable to keep your appointment, please email us at or call 217.875.7211 ext. 6379 to cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hour notice.
  • For your scheduling privileges to be reinstated, please schedule an appointment with the Mathematics & Academic Specialist, at  We will discuss what strategies can help you choose and keep appropriate appointment times that suit you best.
