Student Assistance Fund

If you are facing unexpected situations that will impact your ability to be successful at Richland, the Foundation has established the Student Assistance Fund to provide emergency financial assistance to Richland students. The Student Assistance Fund was established in 2017 and provides financial assistance to Richland students as unexpected situations arise, including medical bills, utility bills, rent, childcare, transportation, technology, etc.

The Student Assistance Fund application is closed for the summer and will reopen on August 15, 2022.  If a student is experiencing an emergency financial situation, they may reach out via email to studentassistance@richland.edu.

In-Person Mental Health Services

Starting January 20, Richland is teaming with Crossing Healthcare to deliver free in-person counseling with a licensed professional, Malinda Powell, ALMFT. Funding will be provided by The Community Foundation of Macon County so we can provide this service at no cost to Richland Community College students, staff, and faculty.

Malinda is an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (ALMFT) at Crossing Healthcare where she has spent the last several years working with individuals, couples, and families to provide solution-focused mental health care that works in their everyday lives with the goal of enhancing their wellbeing. Malinda can provide resources and assistance to those students, staff and faculty experiencing symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, and trauma histories.

Hours will resume Monday, August 15 from 9am-1pm.

Location will be on Richland’s campus at the Macon County Soil and Water Conservation Building, 4004 E. College Park, Decatur, IL 62521
