Student Government

The purpose of the Student Senate is to represent the students of Richland Community College through effective communications by promoting unity and fellowship with all members of the College community. Specifically, we encourage the development of campus organizations and activities that will meet the needs and interests of the student. The Student Senate strives to represent and interpret student opinion as related to the information on campus policy and to distribute the academic fees to provide a variety of educational and social opportunities for students.

SAFE ZONE Program

SAFE ZONE is a program designed to increase the overall campus community’s understanding and awareness of issues faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning (LGBTQ) and other marginalized persons. SAFE ZONE was created to provide a safer, more receptive, and accepting campus climate by preparing members of the Richland community to serve as a resource on LGBTQ issues while educating the campus community about the SAFE ZONE Program.

LEADership Mastery Program

The LEADership Mastery program is Richland Community College’s student leadership program. The program encompasses curricular and co-curricular opportunities and experiences designed to foster leadership that is inclusive of Richland’s core values; Commitment, Respect, Excellence, Accountability and Diversity. Moreover, the LEADership Mastery program helps participants to build community partnerships and to extend beyond the campus in preparing students for socially responsible leadership in their careers, families and communities.

Service & Learning

The Center for Service & Learning is Richland Community College’s one-stop shop for volunteer and community outreach opportunities. Located in the Office of Campus Life (C 133), the Service & Learning Program provides information on local volunteer needs, opportunities for leadership, details on academic service-learning, and other events that link the campus and the community.

Student Clubs & Organizations

At Richland Community College, we realize there is more to your education than what you learn inside the classroom. For that reason, we offer a variety of Student Clubs & Organizations to meet your needs. To get involved, attend Club Day at the beginning of each semester, go to a club meeting, or contact a club officer. You can find contact information for each Student Club & Organization in the Office of Campus Life.

Program Board

Consists of students working with the Student Senate who plan and arrange College wide activities and events. Unique and diverse learning opportunities are provided through seminars, lectures, professional entertainment, tours, displays and travel. If you are interested in being a part of the Program Board, contact the Office of Campus Life.

The Campus Life Program celebrates the unique talents of all students enhancing their educational experience through the engagement in social, cultural, intellectual, recreational and governance programs. We provide leadership opportunities with involvement in student clubs/organizations and volunteerism that enhances commitment, respect, excellence, accountability and diversity.

Each student is encouraged to grow both academically and personally, and to become participating Richland members.
