Richland Community College offers both an Associate of Arts and an Associate of Science in Accounting intended for those students wishing to transfer to a four-year institution and major in Accounting, and an Associate of Applied Science for students preparing for entry-level positions in accounting. Jobs in accounting include bookkeepers, accounting clerks, assistant auditors, or income tax preparers. These positions help companies manage their financial data and exist in most companies, in bookkeeping and accounting firms, and in government organizations. In larger organizations, positions may be specialized such as payroll clerks, accounts recievable clerks or accounts payable clerks.
