Computer Labs

Richland Community College has several computer labs available for student use.

Technical Resource Center

The Technical Resource Center, located in Room C150 (which is within the LRC), provides computer facilities for on-campus and Online Learning student use. If you need a computer to access the Internet or e-mail, to prepare word processing documents or to use other course software, the Technical Resources Center can accommodate you. Staff is available to provide basic assistance.

Fall and Spring Semesters

Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Summer Semester

Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Student Learning Center

Computers are also available (with photo identification) on a walk-in basis in Room S117, the Student Learning Center, during regular SLC hours. Computers are equipped with word processing capabilities and a variety of tutorial programs. Students may use Geometer's Sketch Pad, English as a second language and typing programs. Word processing programs such as Word Perfect and Microsoft Word are available. Students must provide their own discs. A large screen monitor and a screen reading program (JAWS) are available.

Kitty Lindsay Learning Resource Center

The LRC has 33 computers available to the public for database searching, wordprocessing and Internet and e-mail access during regular library hours.  In addition, the LRC has 3 laptops solely for use within the library available to RCC faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students.  Students must show their current validated Richland ID.  No other form of ID will be accepted.  Patrons' records must be in good standing.

The Bubble

The Bubble, located in room S163 of the Schrodt Health Education Center, has computers available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  These computers are reserved primarily for students enrolled in Health Professions courses.  Students wishing to use computers in the Bubble should sign in at the Health Professions Office.

Other Labs

Richland also has computer labs that are designated for use in specific courses, such as Information Technology, Drafting, and Graphic Arts.  Hours for these labs are set by the instructors for these courses, and are for use by students enrolled in the course.
