Scholarships available to students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher
Alumni Scholarship
- Scholarship for three credit hours tuition for all Richland alumni (certificate holders or degree graduates) interested in returning to RCC.
- This does not apply to Continuing and Professional Education classes. This scholarship is available if two or more years have passed since graduation. If the course is greater than three credit hours, the student must pay the difference and is responsible for all registration and instructional fees. An alumnus who withdraws from a class forfeits the waiver.
American Legion Post 105 Book Scholarship
- Scholarship for books awarded to veterans recently returning from overseas duty.
- Recipients may be full- or part-time with a cumulative GPA of 2.50.
Archer Daniels Midland Company Agribusiness Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition or books awarded to a recent high school graduate who is pursuing an agribusiness degree at Richland.
- May be enrolled full- or part-time with a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100-level courses or above. A cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required, and completion of all courses for the semester in which funding is provided.
Archer Daniels Midland Company CDL Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition awarded to a student pursuing a Commercial Driver's License at Richland Community College. Student must possess a valid Illinois driver's license and complete a background check conducted by Richland.
- Students must be enrolled full-time during the 8-week course. For information on admission and scholarship application, contact personnel in the Continuing and Professional Education Division at Richland.
Archer Daniels Midland Company Chemistry Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition or books awarded to a recent high school graduate who is majoring in chemistry with plans to graduate from Richland and pursue a bachelor's degree in this field of study.
- May be enrolled full- or part-time with a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100-level courses or above. A cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required, and completion of all courses for the semester in which funding is provided.
Archer Daniels Midland Company Education Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition or books awarded to a recent high school graduate who will attend Richland Community College. Scholarship is open to all majors.
- May be enrolled full- or part-time with a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100-level courses or above. A cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required, and completion of all courses for the semester in which funding is provided.
Archer Daniels Midland Company Electrical Systems Associate Degree Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition or books awarded to a student pursuing a 68-credit hour Electrical Systems Associates Degree at Richland Community College.
- May be enrolled full- or part-time with a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100-level courses or above. A cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required, and completion of all courses for the semester in which funding is provided.
Archer Daniels Midland Company Information Technology Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition or books awarded to a recent high school graduate who is pursuing an AAS degree or a certificate in Programmer/Analyst, Network Technology, or as a Desktop Support Technician.
- May be enrolled full- or part-time with a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100-level courses or above. A cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required, and completion of all courses for the semester in which funding is provided.
Archer Daniels Midland Company Instrumentation Certificate Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition or books awarded to a student pursuing a basic 52-credit hour Instrumentation Certificate at Richland Community College.
- May be enrolled full- or part-time with a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100-level courses or above. A cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required, and completion of all courses for the semester in which funding is provided.
Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) Welding Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition fees, books, and supplies awarded to those pursuing a basic 30 credit hour welding certificate with ASME certification at RCC.
- Must be a high school or GED graduate with a letter of recommendation. May be enrolled full- or part-time with a minimum of six credit hours and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0. Recipients must complete all courses for the semester in which funding is approved.
Boys and Girls Club Scholarship
- Scholarship to be used for tuition, fees, or books for a degree-seeking student.
- Scholarship provided by Mr. and Mrs. George Prust. First preference is given to any current or former member in good standing with the Boys and Girls Club. If no members of the Boys and Girls Club apply, preference will be given to a minority student or a student with financial need. Open to full- or part-time students at Richland Community College with a cumulative GPA of 2.5. Student must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100 level courses or above. Amount of award will be determined by endowment income.
College Book Stores of America Scholarship
- Scholarship for books.
- Priority will be given to students who are not eligible for financial aid. Students may be enrolled full- or part-time and must have a 2.5 GPA.
William T. Eichenauer Scholarship for Culinary Arts
- Scholarship available to full- or part-time Culinary Arts Students.
- Scholarship provides for the purchase of required supplies and equipment including but not limited to knives, uniforms, and textbooks. Student must maintain a 2.5 GPA.
Elliott Hospitality Management Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition, fees or books to a hospitality management major.
- May be full- or part-time. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required.
Firefighters Local 505 Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition awarded to a recent graduate of a high school in the RCC district who is majoring in fire science with plans to become a firefighter.
- Second semester assistance may be provided if GPA requirements are met. May be full- or part-time with a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100-level courses or above. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required.
First Presbyterian Book Scholarship
- Scholarship for books; for all majors. Must be a resident of Macon County.
- May be full- or part-time with a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100-level courses or above. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required. Amount of award will be determined by endowment income.
Futures Unlimited Scholarship
- Available to the top student graduating from Futures Unlimited High School.
- Scholarship will provide up to 30 credit hours of tuition for one year following high school graduation. Applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours. In addition, recipient must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 to continue funding from the fall to spring semester.
Brenda K. Garrett Memorial Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition, fees, books or childcare, for a student who completed the Richland Community College GED Program, and is seeking a degree at Richland Community College.
- Scholarships will be presented at the GED graduation ceremony. Amount of award will be determined by endowment income. Applications available in the GED Office.
Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce Scholarship
- Tuition scholarship for two semesters awarded to senior high school students in Christian County who are residents of the Richland Community College District.
- Students must be enrolled full-time in 100-level courses. Applicants must have a "C" average in high school and maintain a GPA of 3.0 on a 5.0 scale or a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. Student must also complete all courses started at the beginning of the semester to remain eligible. Applications are available through the Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce and submitted in February of each year. Dr. Hal Gronlund Book Fund Scholarship
- Scholarship for books and instructional materials; to be awarded annually.
- Preference given to Valedictorian Scholarship recipients. Student must be enrolled full-time, have a 2.5 or higher GPA. Amount of award will be determined by endowment income.
Helphinstine Family Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition, fees or books.
- For all majors. May be enrolled full- or part-time with a 2.5 grade point average or above. Amount of award determined by available endowment income.
Honors Program Scholarship
- For students achieving academic excellence at Richland Community College.
- Eligible Students in the Honors Program may receive a 100% tuition waiver. To apply for this particular scholarship, contact the Honors Program coordinator at the College.
Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition, books, study guides, or expenses directly related to Fire Science curricula.
- Student may be full- or part-time, must be a resident of the State of Illinois, and complete the course(s) with a passing grade. Scholarship requires student to show proof of firefighter eligibility - volunteer, paid-on-call, or full-time.
Illinois Health Improvement Association Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition, fees, books, study guides, or expenses directly related to the health field curricula.
- Student may be full- or part-time enrolled in a health care program that provides direct medical care to individuals. Student must also plan to practice in Illinois. Preference given to students with demonstrated financial need.
Imboden Creek Health Services Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition, fees, or books awarded to a nursing student showing interest in the geriatric field. Student must reapply for subsequent semesters.
- Student may be full- or part-time with a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100-level courses or above and must have a 2.5 GPA.
Robert Ingram, Jr. Scholarship
- Scholarship for books available to all majors.
- Student may be full- or part-time with a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100-level courses or above. A cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required.
Ruby Jefferson Memorial Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition, books, or fees awarded to a student majoring in hospitality management.
- Student may be full- or part-time. A cumulative 2.0 GPA is required.
Klarner Transfer Scholarship
- A portion of the dividends available each year from the Klarner Endowment will be available to Richland Community College graduates transferring to four-year Illinois public universities, with preference given to Klarner Scholars.
- All or a portion of the tuition may be provided to transferring students depending on funds available. This scholarship is for one year and may be renewed upon re-application. Must be accepted as a junior at an Illinois public university and have proven financial need as certified by the Financial Aid Office at the University. Students must be full-time enrolled in an academic program approved for Klarner Scholars, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75.
Macon County Lady Landowners Scholarship
- Scholarship for books.
- Student must be enrolled full time with a cumulative GPA of 2.50. Award is for a second year student majoring in agriculture or horticulture.
Masonic Macon Lodge #8 Scholarship - Harry L. Kline Fund
- Scholarship for tuition, fees or books.
- Students must be recent graduates from a Decatur high school. Applicants must have a "C" average in high school and have shown some service to school and/or community. Students must be enrolled full-time, must maintain a 2.0 grade point each semester, and must complete all courses started at the beginning of the semester to remain eligible.
Military Order of the Purple Heart
- Scholarship for fees and/or books.
- May be enrolled full- or part-time and must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5. Scholarship is for any Illinois Veterans with DD214 or DD215, regardless of discharge date - preference given to Purple Heart Recipients and disabled veterans.
James Millikin Estate Health Science Degree Book Scholarship
- Scholarship for health science books available each sememster for full-time students who are residents of Decatur but ineligible for full gift aid as determined by the FAFSA.
- A GPA of 2.5 is required.
James Millikin Estate Tuition or Book Scholarship
- Tuition or book scholarships will be available each semester for full or part-time students (enrolled in a minimum of two classes - one of which must be 100-level or above) who are residents of Decatur, ineligible for full gift aid as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
- GPA of 2.5 is required. Courses below the 100-level may be funded. However, repeats of course below 100-level will not be considered. The Foundation encourages recipients enrolled in courses below the 100-level to discuss with their RCC counselor the benefit of enrolling in ED 101, C DEV 112, P DEV 100, P DEV 101, or P DEV 100. Please see your RCC counselor for a scholarship referral.
James Millikin Estate Special Fund for Nursing Essentials
- One time award for students in the Registered Nursing Program for non-book essentials and other learning supplements.
- Student must be a resident of Decatur, ineligible for full gift aid as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. A GPA of 2.5 is required.
Mueller Company Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition, fees, or books.
- Students must be a son or daughter of a Mueller Company employee. Student must have already completed 12+ semester hours of accredited college work and must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours of 100-level or above courses to receive the scholarship. Open to all majors. Student may only receive scholarship once during his/her tenure at RCC. Applicants must be pursuing a two-year degree. Scholarship recipient based on academics, financial need, and other scholarships awarded to applicants.
Noon Women's Network Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition, fees, or books awarded to a female student pursuing a transfer or occupational degree. Student may be full- or part-time and enrolled in a minmum of 3 credit hours during the semester the scholarship is awarded. Student must maintain a 2.5 GPA and live within a 60-mile radius of Decatur, Illinois.
- This scholarship requires a special application form available through the Richland Community College Foundation or Staley Credit Union. In addition, the student must complete two 500-word essays about the topic discussed on the application and provide a transcript. Applications and materials will be submitted to the Staley Credit Union for processing.
P.E.O. Roundtable Scholarship, P.E.O. Decatur Chapter BC, P.E.O. Decatur Chapter IF
- Scholarship for tuition, fees, or books; awarded to a female living in Macon County, with preference given to those with proven financial need.
- May be full- or part-time with a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100-level courses. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required. Please contact the Foundation Office for further information and forms.
Periman Scholarship for Accounting
- Scholarship for tuition, fees or books for a student majoring in accounting or business.
- May be full- or part-time student and must maintain a 2.5 GPA. Preference given to students with financial need. Amount of award will be determined by endowment income.
PrairieLand Kiwanis Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition, fees, uniforms, or books awarded to students pursuing a degree in Culinary Arts at Richland.
- May be enrolled full- or part-time with a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100-level courses. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required.
Restaurant Association Book/Tuition Scholarship
- Scholarship for books or tuition. Designed specifically for students enrolled in hospitality management courses at Richland Community College.
- May be a full- or part-time student, but must have a minimum of 6 credit hours and a GPA of 2.0. Must be enrolled in at least one hospitality management course.
Frank Rolf Memorial Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition, fees or books, awarded to an Ag/horticulture student committed to continuing at the U of I in the College of ACES transfer program.
- May be full- or part-time with a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100-level courses. A GPA of 2.5 is required. Amount of award will be determined by endowment income.
Richland Chapter of SUAA Book Scholarship
- Retirees from Richland Community College, who are members of the State Universities Annuitants Association (SUAA) retirement system, established this book scholarship in 2010 to assist current Richland employees who are pursuing a certificate or degree.
- May be full- or part-time. A 2.5 cumulative GPA is required.
John Wagner / Intermet Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition, fees and books, for a person demonstrating a past working relationship with the former Wagner Castings / Intermet plant in Decatur.
- May be full- or part-time. For all majors. Scholarship to be awarded to former Wagners employees or their descendants. Recipients must have a 2.0 GPA. Amount of award will be determined by endowment income.
Waverly N. Waller Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition, fees, or books, available for all majors.
- Student may be full- or part-time. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is required.
David P. Wetzel, Sr. Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition, fees, or books specific to students studying in the areas of mathematics, science, or technology.
- Student may be full- or part-time with a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100-level courses. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above is required. Preference will be given to students with financial need.
Eileen A. Wetzel Scholarship
- Scholarship for tuition, fees, or books specific to students studying in the areas of social science, education, or child development.
- Student may be full- or part-time with a minimum of 6 credit hours of 100-level courses. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above is required. Preference will be given to students with financial need.
