Summer OSHA Classes at Richland

OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Awareness
Instructor: Sheri DeBose
June 10 & 11, 2013

Earn a US Department of Labor, OSHA Training, 10-hour card through the National Safety Education Center. Workers are provided with general awareness about recognizing and preventing hazards commonly found in the workplace. OSHA recommends this training as an orientation to occupational safety and health. Workers can receive additional training on hazards specific to their job. 10 hours of mandatory and optional topics will be covered.

Course Fee (includes 10-hour OSHA Card): $200

OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Awareness

June 18 & 25; July 2 & 9, 2013

Earn a US Department of Labor, OSHA Training, 30-hour card through the National Safety Education Center. Supervisors and those desiring a more extensive training safety and health will learn a variety of training. Workers can receive additional training on hazards specific to their job. 30 hours of mandatory and optional topics will be covered.

JOB SITE ANALYSIS

For organizations that don't currently employ a safety professional, Richland Community College can develop customized safety policies and procedures. Richland Community College's staff of safety and health professionals can also provide job site inspections. We can be your personal safety consultant and assist you in compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.

ERGONOMIC CONSULTING

Richland Community College will help you implement an effective Ergonomics Program to achieve a safer work environment and compliance. Richland Community College incorporates six basic elements of the ergonomic process when assisting companies in the development of their own ergonomics program:

  • Management leadership and employee involvement
  • Hazard identification and information
  • Job hazard analysis and control
  • Training
  • Medical management
  • Ergonomics program evaluation

INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE SERVICES

We offer a wide variety of I.H. services including:

  • Health Hazard Assessments
  • Indoor Air Quality Assessments
  • Compliance Assistance

WORKPLACE SIMULATIONS

Workplace simulations allow employees a hands-on opportunity to replicate many types of work environments. The Richland Community College complex serves clients throughout North America, representing a vast variety of industries and construction companies. If your facility cannot be used for practical exercises, we have the availability to simulate your employees' workplace.

  • A Mobile Confined Space Unit (Entry and Rescue classes available at your location)
  • Electrical safety equipment and lockout/tagout simulators
  • Loading dock
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) practice facility
  • Classroom complex with multimedia capabilities

THE NATIONAL SAFETY EDUCATION CENTER

Richland Community College is the only host training site in central Illinois for the National Safety Education Center, a consortium of Northern Illinois University, the National Safety Council and the Construction Safety Council. This center is authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Training Institute to conduct a full range of OSHA-accredited training courses and several additional services. Richland provides advanced courses for compliance with OSHA regulation as well as general safety and health courses to meet safety awareness and new hire orientation needs.

Online Safety Training
