PN 102A - Wellness Across the Lifespan I

Description:PN 102A is the study of basic concepts, principles, and skills that are fundamental to the practice of nursing. Students will develop basic skills in utilizing the nursing process through application of Gordon's 11 functional patterns. The roles as caregiver, teacher, communicator, leader and advocate are introduced and practiced. Students will review the history and roles of the Licensed Practical Nurse, legal and ethical responsibilities, and health team relationships. Students will acquire the basic concepts in the care of the older adult in the long term care setting. Students are also introduced to the Core Values.

Prerequisite(s):completion of or concurrent enrollment in PN 101A, BIOL 202, and NURS 154
