NURS 206 - Family Health Nursing

Description:NURS 206 examines issues relevant to the promotion of sexual and reproductive health throughout the life span and the management of developmental needs and health problems that may occur from infancy through adolescence. Then nursing process and critical thinking are applied to the management of clients and families form preconception through adolescence and to clients with diseases of breasts and the reproductive system. Individual and group teaching, assessment, and nursing skills are emphasized. Students will demonstrate the roles of healthcare team member, and provider of care. Clinical experiences in clinics, hospitals, and selected community agencies will be provided.

Prerequisite(s):completion of NURS 152, NURS 154, NURS 155, and completion of, or concurrent enrollment in NURS 250, BIOL 220, SOCIO 110, or admission to the LPN Bridge Program
