NURS 155 - Medical-Surgical Nursing II Care of the Chronically Ill Client

Description:NURS 155 focuses on the use of the nursing process and critical thinking to manage adult clients with chronic and increasingly complex alterations in neurological, oncological, immune, hematological, endocrine and musculoskeletal functioning in medical health care delivery systems. Students will function in the roles of healthcare team member, provider of care, and manager of care. Clinical experience will be in oncology, acute phase of chronic illness, home health, and hospice care. Students will develop insight about the effects of chronic illness on an aging population as it relates to nursing roles and the health care delivery systems. Oncology and Home Health rotations will be included as an observational experience.

Prerequisite(s):completion of NURS 112 and completion of or concurrent enrollment in NURS 152, NURS 154, PSYCH 145, BIOL 202
