Richland Child Development Center Rules and Regulations

  • Parents are required to provide physical and T.B. records for their children in order for the children to attend the center.
  • Registration forms must be completed for all children who attend the center.
  • The program accepts children ages 2 (toilet trained) through 12, but children must be registered before attending.
  • Child Care spaces must be reserved in 2 hour "blocks of time." If a parent has an hour class, (s)he may use the remaining hour for study time. This is the minimum amount of time charged.  There are no exceptions.
  • Parents must consider the time needed to leave their child in the center before and after their class within those 2 hour "block of time." There is no longer a 15 minute grace period to leave your child before and after class without being charged.
  • PLEASE NOTE: There will be a $1.00 charge for leaving your child within 15 minutes before and a $1.00 charge for picking up your child within 15 minutes after your reserved time.  There will be a $5.00 charge for leaving or picking up your child for any additional time over 15 minutes.
  • Registered children are charged an "enrollment fee," not an "attendance fee." Therefore, parents will be charged for the entire time they have reserved for their child/children including when classes are out early, when classes are cancelled, and when their child/children is/are ill.  This policy is consistent with other Child Care Centers in community colleges.
  • Parents may request "drop-in" time.  However, the minimum amount of time charged will be 2 hours.
  • Full time care will include lunch and a nap.  This is required by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.  The cost of lunch is included in the full day rate.  Snacks will continue to be given to children who attend either part time or full time at no additional cost.
  • Parents who work off campus may leave their children in the center while they are working, provided that the appropriate emergency information and work telephone numbers are in their children's files.
