Requesting Nominations for Graduation Speakers

Graduation is an important part of College life where we celebrate the culmination of much hard work and achievement. As part of the ceremony, we have the opportunity to invite a few distinguished guests to speak to the graduates and the community. Each year one graduating student and a full time faculty member are selected by the Student Senate to address the graduating class. These individuals should reflect the goals and values of Richland Community College.

As this event is important to all of us, we would like to continue to make the speaker selection process open to all members of the Richland Community College community. To that end, the Student Senate is asking for nominations for our 2008 graduation speakers.

Students, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to submit names of potential graduation speakers to the committee. Nominees should be someone whose work and achievements reflect our core values at Richland Community College and whose message is one that will contribute to our graduates' educational experience.

The nomination period will be open from March 1 through March 26, 2008. Please submit your nominations to the Office of Campus Life by completing the graduation speaker nomination form PDF Document icon by March 26. Richland’s Student Senate members will review the nominations and select a student speaker and a full time faculty speaker and announce the selection on Monday, April 7. If you have any questions, please contact the Director of Campus Life, Erik Ashby, at eashby@richland.edu
