Audio-Visual Services

The Audio Visual Department is a unit of the Academic Support Services Division. The Audio Visual Department is a subdivision of the Learning Resources Center. The Audio Visual Department works very closely with the Learning Resources Center to carry out the goals of its common mission and vision.

The mission of the Learning Resources Center (LRC) and Audio Visual (A/V) is to provide the highest level of service and support to students, faculty and staff in conducting college level research required by the academic programs offered at Richland Community College. The LRC collects, organizes, and makes available for use information in all available forms of both print and non-print materials. The LRC and A/V departments provide assistance to faculty and students in making the best use of available learning tools and resources. The LRC and A/V departments endorse the concept of cultivating and maintaining cooperative relationships with colleges, universities, libraries and other community partners to network and share information to develop and enrich the educational and cultural opportunities of the district.

  • Audio Visual provides multi-media equipment for classroom usage including but not limited to the following: Data Projectors, Laptops, DVD/VCR Monitor carts, Speakerphone, CD player, flip charts/easels, boom boxes, etc.
  • Audio Visual provides technical support and provides service to the multi-media equipment in all of the classrooms.
  • Audio Visual maintains a large collection of DVD and VHS titles.
  • Audio Visual equipment can be reserved in person or by phone; a 24 hour notice is needed prior to the event.
  • Audio Visual does not provide software or hardware support beyond the scope of multi-media presentations.
  • Audio Visual houses and maintains the Scantron Grading Machine.
  • Audio Visual coordinates with the Continuing Education Division for Video Conferences and Satellite Teleconferences.
  • Audio Visual maintains an assortment of older equipment as well to facilitate the occasional out of the ordinary need including overhead, slide and 16mm projectors.
  • Audio Visual provides DVD/CD multi high speed duplication (legally/copyright)
  • Audio Visual provides technical expertise in the development of smart classroom equipment.
  • Audio Visual administers and maintains the Campus Vision Information System.
